The Father of Us All
Dr. Ferdinand Porsche (1875 - 1951)
Engineer Dr. Ferdinand Porsche created the revolutionary Volkswagen Beetle, and later designed a Volkswagen-based special sports racer that was the direct ancestor of the cars that finally bore his own name. He also designed the first usable hybrid vehicles, early airplane motors, several famous, very powerful sport and racing cars of the 20s and 30s, large military tanks, and affordable light tractors for the small farmer.
